Update: The float out of the Anthem of the Seas is planned for February 21, 13 clock (local time). The float out of the second Segment of the Norwegian Escape will be at 10 o’ clock. We will broadcast both events live.
The Anthem of the Seas will leave the covered building dock of Meyer Werft on February 21 for the first time in full length. We will broadcast this event live in hd quality from 13 clock (local time) with multiple cameras. The ems conveyance to the North Sea is planned for mid of March.
After the float out of the Anthem of the Seas the smokestack and the North Star will be installed on the cruise ship. On Sunday the ship will be turned in the shipyard basin and the stabilizers and the bow thrusters will be tested.
Before the Anthem of the Seas can be floated out, a swimming megablock of the Norwegian Escape has to leave the dock. After the float out of the Anthem of the Seas, this and a second megablock will be floated in again. The hole procedure will last about 12 hours.
The Anthem of the Seas is together with the Quantum of the Seas the third biggest cruise ship in the world and actually the biggest ever build in Germany. She is 348 meter long, 41.4 meter wide and has a gross-tonnage of 167,800 gt.
